A woman be­ing plagued by a hoard of feral cats in Grey Lynn says she is re­lieved a peace­ful so­lu­tion has been found at last.

Ros­alina Solomona-Kali con­tacted the Auck­land City Har­bour News last month af­ter be­ing de­nied help from the SPCA and Auck­land City Coun­cil in deal­ing with the group of more than 15 cats liv­ing on the edges of her prop­erty.

She wasn’t feed­ing the colony but they were breed­ing and mak­ing her fam­ily sick.

She is now re­ceiv­ing help from An­i­mal Lib­er­a­tion Aotearoa, based in Kings­land. The or­gan­i­sa­tion says it plans to start by feed­ing the cats then grad­u­ally tame and de­sex them and find them per­ma­nent homes.

Ms Solomona-Kali says she is al­ready down to nine cats, with more be­ing re­homed ev­ery cou­ple of days.

The Auck­land City Har­bour News was in­un­dated with emails of­fer­ing help and trap­ping equip­ment.

Ms Solomona-Kali says she is ex­tremely grate­ful to every­one who of­fered their help.
