48-hour limit for film­mak­ers

It’s time for the coun­try’s fastest film­mak­ers to put their best foot for­ward.

En­tries are open for the V En­ergy 48-Hour Fu­ri­ous Film­mak­ing com­pe­ti­tion.

The con­test, now in its sev­enth year, sees both ex­pe­ri­enced and first-time film­mak­ers cre­ate an en­tire short film from scratch in 48 hours.

Winning shorts from each city will com­pete against wild card en­tries se­lected by Peter Jack­son dur­ing a tele­vi­sion spe­cial shown on C4 and one will be crowned grand na­tional cham­pion.

More than 8000 cast and crew are ex­pected to take part in this year’s con­test.

For the sec­ond year run­ning, there is also the chance to en­ter the V En­ergy 48 sec­onds warm-up com­pe­ti­tion where any­one with ac­cess to a cam­era can take up the chal­lenge to recre­ate a fa­mous movie scene.

The first heat will run over the week­end of May 8 to 10.
