Fine art on show to pub­lic

Auck­lan­ders have the chance to get a look at one of the finest pri­vate col­lec­tions of New Zealand art and sculp­ture.

This Sun­day Sorop­ti­mist In­ter­na­tional is invit­ing peo­ple into Ran­noch, home to The James Wal­lace Arts Trust. The col­lec­tion fea­tures works by Pat Hanly, Doris Lusk, sculp­tor Clin­ton Phillips, Ben Webb, Adrian Jack­man and oth­ers.

Funds raised from the event will go to­wards the Auck­land Sex­ual Abuse Help Foun­da­tion.

Sorop­ti­mist In­ter­na­tional is the largest women’s ser­vice or­gan­i­sa­tion in the world, work­ing through strate­gic aware­ness, ad­vo­cacy and action projects.

Its aim is to im­prove the lives of women and girls in ways that im­pact their com­mu­ni­ties, re­gion and coun­tries.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion has 90,000 mem­bers in more than 3000 clubs in 124 coun­tries.

The Auck­land Sex­ual Abuse Help Foun­da­tion pro­vides es­sen­tial ser­vices to women and child vic­tims of sex­ual abuse and rape. Ser­vices in­clude a cri­sis sup­port tele­phone line, restora­tive jus­tice ser­vices, ther­apy pro­grammes and preschool preven­tion pro­grammes.

The col­lec­tion view­ing will run from 4pm to 7pm on Sun­day at 77 Al­morah Rd, Ep­som.
