Couple in need to benefit from film
Aucklanders have the chance to check out the world’s latest cinema technology and raise money for a good cause at the same time.
SkyCity Cinemas and the Auckland City Harbour News are working together to raise money for Dean and Sacha Viall, a Mt Albert couple whose world was turned upside-down 14 months ago when Sacha contracted an infection caused by a common cold-sore virus, which lead to rare swelling in her brain.
Sacha is now in a wheelchair following surgery to remove part of her skull.
Dean was then made bankrupt after he gave up his job to care for his wife fulltime.
SkyCity has generously donated a cinema to screen Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 3D, which showcases state of the art Dolby 3D digital technology. It will be an experience that will have punters jumping out of their seats – literally.
SkyCity Cinemas general manager Jane Hastings says the company is delighted to play a part in helping members of the community.
“It’s a privilege for us to be able to play our part and we look forward to presenting a cheque to Mr and Mrs Viall that will help them through this time.”
The movie will be screened at 2pm on August 1, at SkyCity St Lukes Cinema.
Tickets are $20 which includes a small coke and popcorn. All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the couple for ongoing expenses and medical costs.
To buy tickets to this special movie screening visit the website www.skycitycinemas. co.nz/viall or phone 3020002.
