Those with green thumbs wanting to help out in the community have a number of options over the next four weeks.
There’s a planting day at Heron Park in Waterview on Sunday at 10am. Meet in the carpark at the end of Cadman Place.
A community tree-planting day will be held at Sandringham on July 25 from 10am.
The St Lukes Environmental Protection Society is running the event along the banks of Meola Creek in Kerr Taylor Park.

Native trees will be planted to restore the natural character of Meola Creek in Western Springs on July 26. Meet on Motions Rd opposite the Auckland Zoo entrance for a 10am start.
There will be a day of planting native trees at
Cox’s Bay Reserve in Westmere on August 9. Meet at the park’s Nottingham St entrance at 10am.
Wear sturdy shoes, warm clothing and a raincoat in wet weather. Garden gloves and a spade will be useful.
Light refreshments will be available.
