An In­dian clas­si­cal mu­sic con­cert will be held this week­end fea­tur­ing in­ter­na­tion­ally renowned mu­si­cians.

The con­cert this Sun­day will fea­ture Fazal Qureshi on tabla and Adrian McNeil on sarod.

A tabla is a pair of hand drums, a pop­u­lar per­cus­sion in­stru­ment, and a sarod is a stringed in­stru­ment known for its res­o­nant clas­si­cal sound.

Mr Qureshi has drawn mu­si­cal in­spi­ra­tion from his fam­ily and de­vel­oped a unique style of rhythm, ver­sa­til­ity and elo­quence.

He is ac­com­pa­nied by Mr McNeil who is Aus­tralian­but was based in In­dia for many years, and is now a lec­turer in im­pro­vi­sa­tion in Syd­ney.

Or­gan­ised by the Mu­sic 4 Dreamz group, the evening will start at 6.30pm at Avon­dale Col­lege’s au­di­to­rium.
