Top brass blows in

A brass band dubbed the ‘‘ Monty Pythons of Mu­sic’’ is head­ing to Auck­land for a one-night-only show this month.

Di­rect from Aus­tria, Mnozil Brass boasts a unique blend of mu­si­cal abil­ity, theatrics and orig­i­nal­ity.

Formed 20 years ago in Josef Mnozil’s small tav­ern in Vi­enna, Aus­tria, this ensem­ble of seven tal­ented brass play­ers has been wow­ing au­di­ences around the world.

The band has per­formed at the Royal Al­bert Hall in Lon­don, the Tchaikovsky Con­ser­va­tory in Moscow, at the Salzburg Fes­ti­val and in the United States, Canada, Tai­wan and Ja­pan.

Mnozil Brass plays brass mu­sic for peo­ple from all walks of life.

Each of the ensem­ble mem­bers is a world-class mu­si­cian who also per­forms in the Vi­enna State Opera and the Vi­enna Art Or­ches­tra.

The band will per­form at Auck­land’s Aotea Cen­tre on Septem­ber 24.
