Visitors to Auckland’s waterfront will be able to catch a glimpse of the future from tomorrow as The Cloud hosts the Sustainable City Showcase.
For three days the showcase will take people on a tour of what it is like to live and work sustainably with the latest in electric cars, emerging technologies and sustainable cuisine.
Businesses take centrestage on Thursday from noon before the NZI National Sustainable Business Network Awards gets under way where the best in sustainable business will be celebrated.
Network chief executive Rachel Brown says the showcase has something for everyone.
‘‘From executives who want to upskill on sustainability, to fashionistas wanting to check out the latest trends, or families seeking 121 ways to live better – this really is how sustainable cities should be.’’
Those who commute by cycle or public transport can stop by on Friday for a free coffee and breakfast on the way to work as part of the GreenFleet Conscious Commute. Just present a ticket stub, HOP card, bike or a pair of walking shoes and your own reusable cup to the greeter at the door.
Families can head along on Saturday for educational activities and games.
The showcase will be held from November 22 to 24 at The Cloud, Queens Wharf.
Entry is free but tickets must be purchased for the Ethical Fashion Show and NZI National SBN Awards.
