Vis­i­tors to Auck­land’s water­front will be able to catch a glimpse of the fu­ture from to­mor­row as The Cloud hosts the Sus­tain­able City Show­case.

For three days the show­case will take peo­ple on a tour of what it is like to live and work sus­tain­ably with the lat­est in elec­tric cars, emerg­ing tech­nolo­gies and sus­tain­able cui­sine.

Busi­nesses take centrestage on Thurs­day from noon be­fore the NZI Na­tional Sus­tain­able Busi­ness Net­work Awards gets un­der way where the best in sus­tain­able busi­ness will be cel­e­brated.

Net­work chief ex­ec­u­tive Rachel Brown says the show­case has some­thing for ev­ery­one.

‘‘From ex­ec­u­tives who want to up­skill on sus­tain­abil­ity, to fash­ion­istas want­ing to check out the lat­est trends, or fam­i­lies seek­ing 121 ways to live bet­ter – this re­ally is how sus­tain­able cities should be.’’

Those who com­mute by cy­cle or pub­lic trans­port can stop by on Fri­day for a free cof­fee and break­fast on the way to work as part of the GreenFleet Con­scious Com­mute. Just present a ticket stub, HOP card, bike or a pair of walk­ing shoes and your own re­us­able cup to the greeter at the door.

Fam­i­lies can head along on Satur­day for ed­u­ca­tional ac­tiv­i­ties and games.

The show­case will be held from Novem­ber 22 to 24 at The Cloud, Queens Wharf.

En­try is free but tick­ets must be pur­chased for the Eth­i­cal Fash­ion Show and NZI Na­tional SBN Awards.
