Zumba fans and firsttimers will be putting on their dancing shoes and shaking their hips at Ponsonby’s Lays Gymnasium Hall to raise money for Autism New Zealand this weekend.
The fundraiser is being organised by Zumba instructor Felice Bradatan for the cause which is close to her heart.
Ms Bradatan’s brother is autistic and when it came time to fundraise for the charity Zumba seemed like a great way to do it, she says. People of all ages and abilities, even those with two left feet, are encouraged to come along and give the lively workout a go.
Ms Bradatan is hoping to pack a hall with 100 people ready to dance for a good cause.
The Zumbathon will be held on November 24 at Lays Gymnasium Hall, 20 St Marys Rd, Ponsonby, from 3pm to 4pm.
All the money raised will go to Autism NZ. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and children.
