POLO BASICS

Auckland City Harbour News - - NEWS -

Teams change direction after each goal.

Polo fields are the largest in organised sport and are more than twice the size of a rugby field.

A polo match lasts about 90 minutes and is divided into timed periods called chukkers.

Each chukker is seven minutes long.

Play begins when the umpire throws in the ball.
