Bin needed

Auckland City Harbour News - - LETTERS -

Who in God’s name suggested moving (removed altogether as of January 19) the rubbish bin at the top of Motions Rd by the Old Mill Rd childrens’ playground and toilet block?

Now people just leave the rubbish on the ground or footpath edging.

Bring back the bin so visitors in Auckland don’t have to see this mess.

Perhaps put a bigger bin there to avoid overfilling.

This park is a busy stopover for local families, passing business vehicle traffic, joggers, stadium folk and lunchgoers with option of a quick toilet stop for passing traffic to one of our biggest Auckland parks.

So let’s keep it clean with a decent new bin.

Clear it more often if that’s an issue, noting there is plenty of parks department council folk in vans or trucks driving past this park during the day and even stopping for lunch, as I have seen.

I suggest this mess is going to get worse than better as we get closer to the 2015 recycle program.

The wrongs have been righted as best we can.

Let’s move on.
