Train options planned

Auckland City Harbour News - - SPORT -

Ticket holders for next month’s V8 Supercars ITM 400 Auckland championship have some transport options.

The event is being held at the revamped Pukekohe Park Raceway from April 12 to 14.

A partnership between Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Auckland Transport and V8 Supercars, will give pre-purchase ticket holders the option of travelling on a special event bus or train pass.

It is an initiative that Auckland authorities and event organisers believe is responsible.

‘‘We want to support those fans who have pre-purchased tickets to attend what is New Zealand’s largest annual sporting event, in its first year back in Auckland,’’ ATEED major events manager Jennah Wootten says.

‘‘Experience tells us that a large number of tickets holders will make their own way to the event and there will be parking options available for them.’’

Those using special event buses or trains must show their ITM 400 Auckland ticket.

Officials recommend travelling early to the event to avoid possible delays due to heavy usage.

There is limited mobility parking available at the raceway and a mobility shuttle will operate for train and special event bus customers.
