Family open day to view revamp at reserve
A draft plan of improvements to be made to Costley Reserve in Freemans Bay will be unveiled at a family open day on Sunday.
Many safety issues have been unearthed at the reserve including moss growth on play equipment and issues with lighting because of tree overgrowth.
The Waitemata Local Board is aiming to improve the park’s safety and create stronger links between it and neighbouring streets.
The family open day will give the community a chance to have their say on the plans and explore the park.
A ‘‘mini-beast safari’’, environmental art workshop and free face painting will be available on the day.
Board members and council staff will be able to answer questions and collect people’s views.
It will be held at the reserve from 2pm to 4pm.
