Dance for asthma

For Erin Simp­son and her fam­ily, be­ing hos­pi­talised at the age of eight high­lighted how se­ri­ous asthma can be.

‘‘I re­mem­ber think­ing that you can die from asthma,’’ Erin says.

‘‘This was a pretty scary thought for an eight-year-old.’’

Erin, from the Erin Simp­son Show, is one of the judges for the Asthma Foun­da­tion’s aware­ness cam­paign Dance 4 Asthma.

The Dance 4 Asthma cam­paign co­in­cides with Asthma Aware­ness Week and en­cour­ages schools to dance to raise aware­ness of the 600,000 Ki­wis with asthma.

The Asthma Foun­da­tion en­cour­ages all young peo­ple to be ac­tive and well.

Dance 4 Asthma in­volves schools cre­at­ing a video of stu­dents per­form­ing an orig­i­nal dance to Brooke Duff’s Till the End and post­ing it on YouTube by May 17.
