Up­grade runs into de­lays

An up­grade of the Mt Al­bert train sta­tion is on track for com­ple­tion a lit­tle later than ex­pected.

The first stage of the $8.8 mil­lion project got un­der way in Novem­ber.

So far the Car­ring­ton Rd ac­cess ramp has been de­mol­ished and re­placed with a new pedes­trian bridge that will have stairs down to the plat­form and a lift.

Plat­form im­prove­ments in­clude bet­ter seat­ing, light­ing, shel­ter and sig­nage. The up­grade was ex­pected to be fin­ished in April but work has taken longer than planned.

It is now due for com­ple­tion in June.

can con­tinue to ac­cess the sta­tion via Wil­cott St and New North Rd.

Tem­po­rary im­prove­ments like bet­ter light­ing and new CCTV cam­eras have been in­stalled in the un­der­pass.
