Stitching skills on show
Members of the Auckland Quiltmakers are getting ready for their annual Quilt Show and Market.
The group of 35 textile artists have been meeting for the past 15 years and their work covers all types of quilts from traditional to contemporary and innovative.
They spent a weekend together stitching in preparation.
More than 60 works will hang in the main exhibition. Additionally, a selection of Small Works New Zealand chal- lenge quilts will be displayed.
Some exhibition quilts will be for sale along with a range of previously displayed quilts and quilting products.
Several merchants will be there and a king-sized quilt is being raffled in support of Mercy Hospice.
The show is on May 3 and 4 at the Parnell Community Centre, 545 Parnell Rd. Entry to the exhibition and merchant areas costs $5.
