Top students feature in graduation concert
Rising stars from the University of Auckland’s School of Music are set to take to the stage for the annual Graduation Gala Concerto Competition.
The May 9 concert will feature three of the School of Music’s most outstanding students and a special performance by the Auckland Chamber Choir conducted by associate professor Karen Grylls.
Among the performers is third year student Liam Wooding.
The 20-year-old from Kingsland has been playing piano for most of his life and has performed at top events including the Sydney Youth Musicale.
On the night he will perform Piano Concerto in G major by Maurice Ravel.
The winner will get $5000.
