Auckland writer Ian Wedde appears in a variety of events at this year’s Auckland Writers & Readers Festival
May 18, 10.15am11.15am: En Route to Venice – Bill Culbert. Mr Wedde will be discussing the marvels of the work of Mr Culbert who is representing New Zealand at the Venice Biennale. Mr Culbert is the subject of Mr Wedde’s 2009 book Bill Culbert: Making Light Work
May 18, 5.30pm6.30pm: Food for Thought. In an age of first-world food obsession, writers Wayne Macauley, Sue Orr, Dave Veart and Ian Wedde read from work that celebrates or scorns these foodie times. Free event
May 19, 11.30am12.30pm: Changing the World One Word at a Time. In conversation with John Newton, Ian Wedde will talk about his new poetry collection The Lifeguard: New Poems 2018-2013, as well as his 2012 novel The Catastrophe.
