One dance show at ASB
A host of talented Auckland dancers will take to the stage with the New Zealand Dance Company as the company makes a one night only performance at the ASB Theatre during its first North Island tour on May 25.
The company’s inaugural production Language of Living includes the work of Pt Chevalier residents, choreographer Michael Parmenter and dancer Hannah Tasker Poland.
The show features choreographed performances backed by innovative costuming, set design, video and live music.
The company’s artistic director and Kingsland resident, Shona McCullagh, says the show will appeal to both dance aficionados and those less familiar with dance.
Auckland audiences will also be treated to the New Zealand premiere of the company’s first international work Faune, inspired by legendary dancer Vaslav Nijinsky’s original choreography and performed by New Zealand’s global dance star Ursula Robb.
Language of Living will show at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre on May 25 at 7.30pm.
