Comic dance show is back
The hit show Stomp is coming to Auckland in August and we’ve got tickets for you and a friend to see it at the Aotea Centre ASB Theatre.
It’s been four years since the internationally acclaimed musical was last performed to packed theatres in New Zealand.
‘‘We are really excited about coming back,’’ cocreator/director Steve McNicholas says.
‘‘If you’ve seen it before then this show has plenty of new routines to enthral.’’
Stomp has entertained audiences all over the world since its launch in Edinburgh 22 years ago.
The show was performed at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony and is a highoctane mix of slick choreography, tight ensemble work, industrial per- cussion, and continuous comedy.
"It is a unique and supremely clever idea, to create music from everyday objects and combine it with side-splitting comedy and intricate choreography to produce a polished theatrical performance, the likes of which you’ve never seen before,’’ producer and of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions chief executive James Cundall says.
