Benjamin William Davis’ Hardware Boot Factory in Richmond Rd and Elliott’s factory in 1912.
The league code was in its fourth season in New Zealand and a scratch game was played between both factories with teams of seven a side.
Davis then founded the club and was its first vicepresident.
The Pt Chevalier man maintained a keen interest until he died in 1962.
