Book fair set to help city’s cats

Stray cats ev­ery­where will ben­e­fit from the Lonely Miaow As­so­ci­a­tion’s an­nual book fair ‘‘Get some Kitty Lit­ter-ature’’ next week­end.

There will be about 4000 books for sale at the June 23 fair with prices start­ing at 50 cents. None will be over $5.

The event will help raise well-needed funds.

‘‘If you love read­ing and you love cats, this is a fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity to find goodqual­ity bar­gains, per­fect for the win­ter months,’’ Lonely Miaow mar­ket­ing man­ager Stacey Gil­lies says.

The fair is at the Grey Lynn Li­brary Hall at 474 Great North Rd from 9am till 4pm. Early ad­mis­sion charge $5, 9am till 10am.
