Festival stage open to tal­ent

Here is your chance to hit the big time and be part of the coun­try’s big­gest Christ­mas mu­si­cal spec­tac­u­lar.

Pro­duc­ers of Coca-Cola Christ­mas in the Park, now in its 20th year, are invit­ing tal­ented new artists to go on­line and apply to au­di­tion for the pop­u­lar out­door mu­si­cal ex­trav­a­ganza.

‘‘We’re look­ing for ex­tra­or­di­nary new tal­ent,’’ artis­tic pro­ducer Kate Ward-Smythe says.

‘‘Per­form­ers who can hold their own on the big stage and per­form along­side a star stud­ded lineup of some of Aus­trala­sia’s most pop­u­lar en­ter­tain­ers.

‘‘Coca-Cola Christ­mas in the Park is a unique op­por­tu­nity for tal­ented new­com­ers to ex­pe­ri­ence the ex­cite­ment of per­form­ing in front of a mas­sive live au­di­ence.’’

The an­nual event is sup­ported by Sub­ur­ban News­pa­pers, pub­lisher of the Auck­land City Har­bour News.

As­pir­ing per­form­ers can apply for au­di­tions on­line by sub­mit­ting pho­tos, video footage or record­ings.

Suc­cess­ful ap­pli­cants will be in­vited to at­tend one of the au­di­tion work­shops be­ing held in late July.
