Hear can­di­dates

Auck­lan­ders will have the chance to mea­sure up their may­oral can­di­dates and hear where they stand on vi­tal is­sues con­cern­ing the su­per-city tonight.

The may­oral de­bate will be held at the Univer­sity of Auck­land and will cover top­ics such as hous­ing af­ford­abil­ity, fu­ture trans­port op­tions and the pro­posed Auck­land Uni­tary Plan.

The de­bate will

be chaired by jour­nal­ist and po­lit­i­cal com­men­ta­tor Rod Oram who will di­rect ques­tions to the in­cum­bent Len Brown and con­tenders John Minto, John Palino and Ue­si­fili Unasa.

The de­bate is part of the Fast For­ward lec­ture se­ries at the National In­sti­tute of Creative Arts and In­dus­tries at the univer­sity.

The may­oral hope­fuls, who hold di­verse views on many is­sues, will have to an­swer five ques­tions each.

With less than two months left un­til elec­tion day this is the per­fect op­por­tu­nity for vot­ers to size up the con­tenders.
