Odd Shoe day will be held on Septem­ber 13 to raise money for Camp Qual­ity – an ini­tia­tive de­signed to en­hance the lives of chil­dren with can­cer. Peo­ple are en­cour­aged to wear odd shoes at work and school on the day and do­nate to the or­gan­i­sa­tion on­line at cam­pqual­ity.org.nz or through the BNZ. The first New Zealand camp was held in West Auck­land in Jan­uary 1985 and at­tracted 22 chil­dren from through­out the coun­try. The free sum­mer camps are now held every year to help chil­dren and their fam­i­lies over­come the chal­lenges of liv­ing with can­cer. Camp Qual­ity also de­liver fam­ily days, so­cial out­ings, re­unions and mini-camps.
