Art changes with seasons
Spring has sprung in High St.
Artist Martin Poppelwell’s tree artwork is lining the outside of 33 High St boasting a spring theme with handpainted blossoms.
The work will change with the seasons.
The changing work allows the artist to add blossoms, fruit, bird nests and leaves.
It also signifies the changing face of High St.
The building is currently a demolition site but once housed the bars Box and Cause Celebre which are remembered for their place in Auckland’s nightlife through the 80s and 90s and once hosted Eric Clapton.
Aucklanders are encouraged to interact with the artwork during its seasonal transformation.
It is uncertain how long the temporary piece will be in place.
