Love of art en­cour­aged

Creative stu­dents are be­ing recog­nised for their ef­forts in a bid to en­cour­age a life-long love af­fair with vis­ual arts.

Se­condary school art stu­dents from One­hunga High School, Ep­som Girls Gram­mar, Mt Roskill Gram­mar School, Auck­land Gram­mar School and Mt Al­bert Gram­mar were were among the re­cip­i­ents of Auck­land Art Gallery’s an­nual Pat Hanly Art Stu­dent Awards on Septem­ber 3.

The stu­dents were nom­i­nated by their teach­ers for their com­mit­ment and pas­sion for the vis­ual arts.

They will re­ceive a one-year free mem­ber­ship to the Friends of the Gallery, which gives them con­ces­sion rates to paid ex­hi­bi­tions and in­vi­ta­tions to exclusive tours.

Mt Roskill Gram­mar’s Con­rad Wolf­gramm and Auck­land Gram­mar’s Nicholas Peek also re­ceived spon­sor­ship from the Tau­tai Con­tem­po­rary Pa­cific Arts Trust.
