Singer per­forms

Pene Pati has sung for the world but will be re­turn­ing next month to per­form for the home crowd.

The Auck­land-born opera singer has just fin­ished three months in the San Fran­cisco Merola Opera pro­gramme, where in­ter­na­tion­ally ac­claimed New Zealan­der Si­mon O’Neill also at­tended.

Mr Pati will be per­form­ing with his equally tal­ented brother Ami­tai as well as Amina Edris, James Ioelu and Mar­lena Devoe at a con­cert at the Town Hall on Oc­to­ber 8.

Mr Pati has a long line of suc­cess: In 2009 he was the win­ner of The NZ Aria; in 2010 he was The Young Per­former of the Year; dur­ing 2011 he won the Aus­tralian McDon­ald’s Aria and was se­cond in the pres­ti­gious Bel Canto compe- tition for which he re­turned to Syd­ney and won last year.
