Pene Pati has sung for the world but will be returning next month to perform for the home crowd.
The Auckland-born opera singer has just finished three months in the San Francisco Merola Opera programme, where internationally acclaimed New Zealander Simon O’Neill also attended.
Mr Pati will be performing with his equally talented brother Amitai as well as Amina Edris, James Ioelu and Marlena Devoe at a concert at the Town Hall on October 8.
Mr Pati has a long line of success: In 2009 he was the winner of The NZ Aria; in 2010 he was The Young Performer of the Year; during 2011 he won the Australian McDonald’s Aria and was second in the prestigious Bel Canto compe- tition for which he returned to Sydney and won last year.
