Kids meet ocean myths

Young­sters will ven­ture into the depths of the deep blue sea and be trans­ported into a mag­i­cal world of myths and le­gends when they at­tend the school hol­i­day pro­gramme at Voy­ager NZ Mar­itime Mu­seum.

Myth­i­cal Crea­tures, Dis­cover the Myths and Le­gends of the Sea is on from Septem­ber 30 to Oc­to­ber 11.

Kids will have the chance to help make a gi­ant tani­wha, be­come a deep sea crea­ture and dis­cover the sto­ries of the ocean.

They will get a map that will guide them through the gal­leries to dis­cover a hid­den myth­i­cal crea­ture.

There will also be a photo booth and a trea­sure chest filled with cos­tumes repli­cat- ing the myth­i­cal crea­tures of the sea. Pho­tos will be posted on Voy­ager’s Face­book page.

Ac­tiv­i­ties will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The pro­gramme is suited to chil­dren aged 4 to 12 years.
