Lots to do at the mu­seum

It’s full steam ahead at the Voy­ager New Zealand Mar­itime Mu­seum for the Her­itage Fes­ti­val start­ing on Satur­day. Events in­clude: Ted Ashby her­itage sail­ings. The ketch-rigged scow is typ­i­cal of the fleet that op­er­ated in the 19th and early 20th cen­tury. It was built by the mu­seum in 1993. One hour sail­ings are on through­out the fes­ti­val. Book­ings are es­sen­tial and charges ap­ply

Myth­i­cal Crea­tures hol­i­day pro­gramme. Daily ses­sions will run from Septem­ber 30 to Oc­to­ber 11. Chil­dren are $5 and adults are free

Canals and Wa­ter­ways in early Auck­land with Mar­leene Boyd. A look at 19th cen­tury plans to trans­form the Waitem­ata Har­bour. Sem­i­nars on Oc­to­ber 2, from 10am, and Oc­to­ber 8, from 2pm Ad­mis­sion $10.
