Lots to do at the museum
It’s full steam ahead at the Voyager New Zealand Maritime Museum for the Heritage Festival starting on Saturday. Events include: Ted Ashby heritage sailings. The ketch-rigged scow is typical of the fleet that operated in the 19th and early 20th century. It was built by the museum in 1993. One hour sailings are on throughout the festival. Bookings are essential and charges apply
Mythical Creatures holiday programme. Daily sessions will run from September 30 to October 11. Children are $5 and adults are free
Canals and Waterways in early Auckland with Marleene Boyd. A look at 19th century plans to transform the Waitemata Harbour. Seminars on October 2, from 10am, and October 8, from 2pm Admission $10.
