Help for or­phans

The streets and parks of Auck­land will play race track this week­end for a group of peo­ple us­ing cre­ativ­ity to help oth­ers.

Mem­bers of not for profit or­gan­i­sa­tion Buy­isa will hold an Amaz­ing Race across the city fea­tur­ing a se­ries of phys­i­cal and cre­ative tasks to have fun and raise money for a Fi­jian or­phan­age.

Or­gan­iser Stan­ton Dunn says the event is an op­por­tu­nity to help those in need. Twen­ty­five teams have reg­is­tered, at a cost of $15 a per­son, to take part with pro­ceeds go­ing to the Trea­sure House or­phan­age in Nadi.

‘‘They have 25 kids there and the money will be used for the ne­ces­si­ties like for­mula, nap­pies and what­ever else they need,’’ Mr Dunn says.

The group’s last e event in­cluded kayak­ing at Mis­sion Bay.
