Pop­u­lar play comes alive

Pt Che­va­lier res­i­dent Phil Pele­ton is mak­ing a come­back to the stage in next month’s theatre thriller The Woman in Black.

Orig­i­nally a 1983 book by Su­san Hill, The Woman in Black is now a pop­u­lar play with au­di­ences.

This adap­ta­tion, di­rected by John Antony, is a play within a play fol­low­ing Arthur Kipps, played by Mr Pele­ton, who hires an ac­tor to help him bring his per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ences to life, fol­low­ing a tragic past.

He is joined by Lord of the Flies ac­tor Zane Flem­ing who takes on the role of The Ac­tor.

A fa­mil­iar face on New Zealand screens and stages, Mr Pele­ton trained in Lon­don and worked in film and theatre in the UK.

The Woman in Black will play at The Pum- phouse Theatre in Taka­puna from Oc­to­ber 16 to 26.
