Big Gay Out is back

The Auck­land Pride Fes­ti­val and Pa­rade will be back for an­other colour­ful turn next year. Thou­sands of peo­ple packed out the Pon­sonby Rd strip in Fe­bru­ary more than a decade since Auck­land’s last gay pride pa­rade took its fi­nal bow. The fes­ti­val is to re­ceive $100,000 from the Auck­land Coun­cil con­trolled or­gan­i­sa­tion Auck­land Tourism, Events and Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment. The two-week long event will run from Fe­bru­ary 7 to 23. The Big Gay Out will make a re­turn to Coyle Park on Fe­bru­ary 9, while the pa­rade is set to take over Pon­sonby Rd on Fe­bru­ary 22.
