The Taniwha is attracting individuals, businesses and other community organisation who see it as a team-building opportunity, as well as an opportunity to support a good cause. The Vodafone Warriors will be showing their support at The Taniwha for Shine. A group of Warriors will be participating in the event as part of their pre-season training. They will also be providing all of the official race bags for each participant filled with goodies, and they will provide 10 spot prizes for the event. Shine is a charity partner of the Warriors. Tonkin & Taylor, a New Zealand environmental and engineering consultancy firm in Newmarket, is among the businesses supporting Shine by registering around 100 of their employees to participate in The Taniwha. Their entry fees have been paid by the company and the staff are fundraising for Shine.
