Gleeful lineup for Christmas in Park
Christmas glee is coming to town.
Rebecca McFadzien will perform with the Auckland University Glee Club at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park on December 14.
The event is in its 20th year and is partly sponsored by Suburban Newspapers, publisher of the Auckland City Harbour News.
Rebecca says the glee club and Christmas in the Park are the perfect combination as both bring people from all walks of life together.
Music crosses languages and unifies communities, the 22-year-old says.
More than 80 people perform with the glee club but just seven will perform a secret set list on the 14th.
The group is known for its pop song mash-ups, such as Grease’s Summer Lovin’ with What Makes You Beautiful by boyband One Direction.
Glee has changed the actress’ life, she says, having met both her best friend and boyfriend through the club.
Everyone in glee can be themselves and celebrate their love for music, she says.
The group has performed at The Civic Theatre but Christmas in the Park will be its largest audience to date, Rebecca says.
