Sign up for the great Santa run
Entries are open for those keen to take part in this year’s Great KidsCan Santa Run.
On December 4 people of all ages will dress in Santa suits for a 2 kilometre to 3km run or walk to raise money for New Zealand children living in poverty.
Last year the nationwide event attracted 3500 participants and organisers are hoping to boost the number of Santas to more than 5000 this year. There are several Auckland courses including one through the Viaduct.
The Santa Run is a major fundraiser for KidsCan. Each entrant receives a Santa suit and a goodie bag as part of their entry fee.
The KidsCan Charitable Trust is encouraging businesses, individuals and families to get behind the event.
‘‘The Santa Run is a great event for people to get involved in,’’ KidsCan founder and chief executive Julie Chapman says. ‘‘We have been part of the run for four years now and every dollar raised helps us continue our work supporting Kiwi kids.’’
