Fire­works show set to blast off

The mas­sive Waitakere Li­ons Fire­works show sparks up again on Novem­ber 16.

Another en­ter­tain­ing laser, lights, spe­cial ef­fects and fire­works spec­tac­u­lar is promised by or­gan­is­ers the Waitakere Li­ons Club at The Trusts Sta­dium in Cen­tral Park Drive, Hen­der­son.

More than 12,000 peo­ple are ex­pected, with plenty of en­ter­tain­ment be­fore the fi­nale.

The lights and py­rotech­nics show is de­scribed as the big­gest of its kind in Auck­land, chore­ographed to mu­sic.

Flame throw­ers, mov­ing light lasers and more than 1000 fire­works will light up the night sky.

Stalls, food, glow­sticks, 3D glasses and more fea­ture at the event, which has the Sun­day set aside as a rain day.

Any prof­its go to char­ity, such as the West­pac res­cue he­li­copter which re­ceived about $2000 from last year’s event.

Tick­ets, $25 adult, $50 a fam­ily (two adults and up to four chil­dren), $15 stu­dent/se­niors, $5 chil­dren, will be avail­able shortly from West Auck­land liquor out­lets, The Trusts Sta­dium or visit waitakere fire­works.org.nz for in­for­ma­tion.

Gates open 5.30pm and the dis­play launches af­ter dark.
