Fireworks show set to blast off
The massive Waitakere Lions Fireworks show sparks up again on November 16.
Another entertaining laser, lights, special effects and fireworks spectacular is promised by organisers the Waitakere Lions Club at The Trusts Stadium in Central Park Drive, Henderson.
More than 12,000 people are expected, with plenty of entertainment before the finale.
The lights and pyrotechnics show is described as the biggest of its kind in Auckland, choreographed to music.
Flame throwers, moving light lasers and more than 1000 fireworks will light up the night sky.
Stalls, food, glowsticks, 3D glasses and more feature at the event, which has the Sunday set aside as a rain day.
Any profits go to charity, such as the Westpac rescue helicopter which received about $2000 from last year’s event.
Tickets, $25 adult, $50 a family (two adults and up to four children), $15 student/seniors, $5 children, will be available shortly from West Auckland liquor outlets, The Trusts Stadium or visit waitakere fireworks.org.nz for information.
Gates open 5.30pm and the display launches after dark.
