Al­co­hol aware­ness

Peo­ple strug­gling with their drink­ing are be­ing in­vited to a spe­cial meet­ing as part of Al­co­holics Anony­mous Aware­ness Week. The or­gan­i­sa­tion is hold­ing a 24-hour open meet­ing to­mor­row in Mt Eden. From 8am on Satur­day to 8am on Sun­day peo­ple can join the se­ries of back-to-back ses­sions to see if Al­co­holics Anony­mous is for them. Al­co­holics Anony­mous mem­bers aim to stay sober and help other al­co­holics achieve so­bri­ety. The AA open meet­ing is on to­mor­row at the Wings Trust Build­ing, 43 Walters Ave, Mt Eden. There is also a pub­lic meet­ing later in the month as part of the AA North­ern Area Assem­bly. That meet­ing is on Novem­ber 16, 7pm to 8.30pm at the Fick­ling Con­ven­tion Cen­tre, 546 Mt Al­bert Rd, Three Kings.
