Parnell bag first innings points after day 1
Parnell already have first innings points in the bag after day one of their match with Grafton United for the Hedley Howarth Trophy.
Grafton’s Lochie Ferguson was out to prove a point in his first two-day major championship outing of the 2013/14 campaign on Saturday. The speedster took two early wickets at Shore Rd before coming back to claim two more.
Michael Ravlic proved to be almost unplayable returning figures of 3/23 from 15 overs as the visitors crumbled to 114 all out in just 48 overs.
The hosts also lost regular wickets in their response but a half-century from captain William Brittain ensured Parnell claimed a first innings victory.
They take a 15 run lead into the second day with five wickets in hand and Dave Goddard unbeaten on 34.
