Chance of a lifetime for Gallipoli volunteer helpers
Volunteers are being sought for an experience of a lifetime assisting with visitor services at commemorations in Gallipoli in April, 2014.
Conservation Volunteers is responsible for organising volunteers to help at Anzac Day commemorations in Gallipoli on behalf of Veterans’ Affairs New Zealand and the Australian Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
The job includes tasks like welcoming visitors, conducting bus registrations and helping visitors with mobility issues.
13-day experience volunteers will be part of commemorative services and get to explore Istanbul and visit battle sites along the Gallipoli Peninsula.
People with medical and defence force backgrounds are encouraged to apply, but this experience is not essential.
You need to be aged 18 or over to apply.
The cost of the trip for volunteers is about $6936 and applications close on November 15.
The programme runs from April 16 to 29.
