The pro­tec­tion of the kauri will be on the agenda at the Kauri Dieback Sym­po­sium at The Univer­sity of Auck­land on Satur­day. An es­ti­mated 13,500 hectares of for­est in the Auck­land re­gion is af­fected by kauri dieback disease. Auck­land Coun­cil biose­cu­rity man­ager Jack Craw says the sym­po­sium is an op­por­tu­nity to en­cour­age on­go­ing dis­cus­sion and ac­tion to man­age the disease.
