A couple who saved a woman from an oncoming train are being praised by police. The West Auckland couple noticed the 17-year-old standing on the tracks at Grafton train station on February 18. They pulled her off the tracks and waited with her until police arrived, Auckland City Police Inspector Vaughn Graham says. A train pulled into the station just moments after the girl was pulled to safety. ‘‘It’s a good piece of work. They put themselves at risk doing it,’’ Mr Graham says. The young woman is receiving professional help and the couple will be officially recognised by police at an upcoming awards ceremony. Need help?
