What do you like best about the city?
I love how the city is surrounded by heritage neighbourhoods like Ponsonby, St Marys Bay, Parnell and Grafton and I’m thrilled we are finally getting the kind of waterfront development we deserve. How long have you lived here and where are you originally from?
I came to Auckland from Vancouver for one year ... that was 25 years ago this May. What do you like least and how could we fix it?
I hate that we keep losing heritage buildings to developers and the tilt-up slab apartment blocks that have sprung up like weeds in their place are deplor- able. If we took a wrecking ball to those and replaced them with some well planned, designed ones that would be fantastic. Where’s the best place to buy dinner in the city?
Sugar Club for a big splash out (it’s worth walking up 52 flights) and Kura, Queen St, for a great pre-theatre bite. And who does the best fish and chips?
