Event the chance to meet your league heroes
Here’s a chance to rub shoulders with some rugby league personalities and raise money for a great cause.
The Mad Butcher and Suburban Newspapers Community Trust is hosting a fundraising luncheon for the League 4 Life programme at the Ellerslie Events Centre on May 9. A charity auction will take place and items going under the hammer include the boots worn by Benji Marshall in his last ever game for the Kiwis.
Whoever successfully bids for a signed Vodafone Warriors jersey will also get the chance to meet his or her favourite player.
League 4 Life is a support network for league players, affiliates and their families facing financial difficulties and hardship.
Among those it aims to help are former players in need of rehabilitation or special assistance because of injuries during their playing days.
The MC is trustee and League 4 Life ambassador Sir Peter Leitch.
All attendees will receive Vodafone Warriors supporter membership.
Anyone who purchases a table will also receive two free tickets to the Warriors match being played against the Raiders the next day at Eden Park.
