But she needs a hand getting there.

The stay-at-home mother-of-two needs to raise $3500 so she can take part in the World Vision Cycle Cambodia Challenge in October.

Participants fundraise $3500 which goes towards a clean water and sanitation project for people living in Stong, Cambodia.

She will also visit some of World Vision’s projects in Cambodia and meet her sponsor child Kanha.

The Rickit family has sponsored the 11-year-old girl for two years.

‘‘It makes me feel a bit teary really,’’ she says.

‘‘It will be amazing to see her in person and will be really interesting to get an insight into how she lives.’’

Rickit will be cycling up to 75km each day on the trip.

‘‘I’ve been told it’s fairly easy going but quite humid.’’

It didn’t take long for her to decide she wanted to take up the cycle challenge.

‘‘An email arrived in my inbox about it and I thought ‘yeah’.

‘‘It’s a bit of an adventure and it’s giving something back at the same time.’’

The money raised from the challenge will be used to construct and renovate wells and school rainwater tanks, provide water filters to primary schools, help build school toilets and facilities, conduct water quality testing and provide education on personal hygiene and sanitation to people living in Stong.
