Dog’s dip in pool just not al­lowed

Pub­lic pools are no place to take your pooch for a pad­dle, Auck­land Coun­cil says.

Signs have been erected around Grey Lynn Pad­dling Pool in Grey Lynn Park to re­mind peo­ple it’s a pet-free zone af­ter a Labrador was seen tak­ing a dip.

An Auck­land Coun­cil spokesper­son says a per­son was spot­ted bring­ing their dog into the pool area by a mem­ber of the YMCA team that man­ages the pool and they were asked to leave.

The dog had just got its feet wet in the beach area, the spokesper­son says.

‘‘The team put some signs up to re­mind peo­ple and haven’t had any fur­ther trou­ble.’’
