Art world is buzzing
Do you want to know what the buzz is about pollen hotels and pasture paintings?
Artists, scientists and beekeepers will demonstrate pollination, honey making, and everything bee-related at the ‘‘Beejam’’ at Ponsonby’s Artstation on Saturday.
The demonstration is part of a series of interactive projects which are popping up across the city streets, beaches and parks this month.
The initiative called POP is being driven by a collective of artists and supported by the Waite- mata Local Board. It uses creative experiences to challenge how Aucklanders perceive the city they live in and people within it.
Pasture paintings and geometric forms created
the from a palette of pollenrich pasture will be displayed at six sites across the city, including Motions Rd in Western Springs and Boston Rd in Mt Eden this month. The paintings act as pollen hotels for centrally located beehives.
