Life saving app
Help is available in a heartbeat with St John’s new CPR phone app. The app walks users through how to perform CPR in an emergency. Each day at least nine New Zealanders suffer a heart attack but only 10 per cent survive. CPR can mean the difference between life and death, St John medical director Tony Smith says. ‘‘CPR is simple to do but in the heat of the moment it’s easy for your mind to go blank and that’s where this app will be a vital prompt and guide,’’ he says. The app is free from app stores.
