Do you know a young person contributing to the peaceful nature of Auckland? Nominations close today for the annual Auckland – City of Peace Youth Awards. Young people between 13 and 24 are eligible. Their contribution could include organising conflict resolution programmes, celebrating cultural diversity, focussing on human rights or caring for the environment. The awards are delivered annually by the council and The Peace Foundation to recognise young people’s contribution to peace services and leadership around Auckland. Auckland was named a City for Peace in June 2012. The award ceremony will be held at the Western Springs Garden Hall on September 21.
