Service to be held
The Annual Commemoration Service for the Merchant Navy will be held at Voyager NZ Maritime Museum on September 3 at 11am in the Maritime Room on level one of the museum. All welcome to commemorate those who served and lost their lives in the Merchant Navy in both world wars. The service will take approximately one hour, which includes the laying of the wreath at Voyager’s Merchant Navy Memorial Plaque. At approximately 1pm in the Oceans Apart Gallery, retired merchant seaman and museum volunteer Barry Parsons will talk about the wartime careers of the merchant ships represented in the gallery.
