Ser­vice to be held

The An­nual Com­mem­o­ra­tion Ser­vice for the Mer­chant Navy will be held at Voy­ager NZ Mar­itime Mu­seum on Septem­ber 3 at 11am in the Mar­itime Room on level one of the mu­seum. All wel­come to com­mem­o­rate those who served and lost their lives in the Mer­chant Navy in both world wars. The ser­vice will take ap­prox­i­mately one hour, which in­cludes the lay­ing of the wreath at Voy­ager’s Mer­chant Navy Me­mo­rial Plaque. At ap­prox­i­mately 1pm in the Oceans Apart Gallery, re­tired mer­chant sea­man and mu­seum vol­un­teer Barry Par­sons will talk about the wartime ca­reers of the mer­chant ships rep­re­sented in the gallery.
